27 Oct A Spice of Life’s Chef de Cuisine, Pieter Dijkstra, voted “Best Chef”
BROOMFIELD, Colorado, October 15, 2009 – Joining the Denver Metro area’s restaurant elite, Pieter Dijkstra showcased a taste of his innovative cuisine at the 2009 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Event and won best chef. Dijkstra served Molten Pepper-Jack Cheese Polenta with Smoked Pork Shoulder, a Skewer of Pine Nut-Crusted House-Made Marshmallows with Caramelized Berries, and a Jalapeno Infused Honeydew Melon Shooter.
Guests at the March of Dimes fundraiser sampled food prepared by signature chefs from restaurants such as The Greenbriar Inn, Jax Fish House, 5480, Arugula, Jill’s at the St. Julien, Centro, Salt, and many more. After tasting each chefs offering, attendees voted for their favorites in the categories of “best chef,” “best plate presentation” and “best menu item.” Guests voted Executive Chef Sean Lowenthal of The Greenbriar Inn for best plate presentation and best menu item for his Truffle Haystack Boulder Chevre Cheesecake with seared Hudson Valley foie gras, mango relish, and micro Arugula. Dijkstra is honored to be among so much talent in the Denver metro area, and A Spice of Life is proud to have him on its team.
