11 Sep Farm to Table Dinner Raises Thousands for Rural Ethiopia
A Spice of Life is beyond enthusiastic to announce the success of last month’s sold out 80 person farm to table dinner. Held on the quaint Lyon’s Farmette each summer, the farm to table dinner has become an annual fundraising event which brings together food, community and philanthropy.
This year, guests sampled a number of hors d’oeuvres and dined on a bountiful three course meal which centered around ingredients grown on the Farmette or raised nearby. The goal of this dinner was to raise money for PRIDE (Partners for Rural Improvement and Development in Ethiopia), with 100% of all proceeds (close to six thousand dollars) donated to directly aid this cause.
PRIDE was founded in 2006 to improve the living conditions and quality of life in the rural highlands of Ethiopia. Each year after the fundraiser the partners travel to rural Ethiopian villages to install latrines, build schools, cap springs to provide access to clean drinking water, and more. This was truly an incredible experience that A Spice of Life is proud to take part in each year. There is no better way to make the world a better place while connecting our core values, partnerships, and passion for food than with events such as these. Join us next time!
